Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat held the review meeting on the topic of T.B. eradication and the campaign National T.B. elimination Program campaign. Manoj Agarwal, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Health, gave each and every information about the program of T.B. eradication in Gujarat. Governor discussed many things about T.B. eradication. Extensive review of the work done in the state under the “Elimination Program”. Praising the commendable work being done for the eradication of T.B in the state, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a dream to eradicate India from T.B by the year 2025. Gujarat is also working to eradicate the T.B. from the state and people are doing really commendable job. He urged the state health department to make efforts towards becoming a TB free state. The Governor also suggested to organize various seminars as well as programs to create awareness among the citizens about making Gujarat a TB free state.

In this meeting, Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department informed about the situation of TB in Gujarat. Giving details of the work done for the eradication of TB in the state, he said, To make the eradication campaign a success through public participation, it is planned to involve all the people’s representatives, volunteers and service-oriented organizations up to the taluka level. It will work to ensure that TB patients are adopted and treated by the government as well as they can get a nutritious diet. He said that in the year 2020-21, TB According to the Prevalence Survey, a total of 312 TB cases are reported per one lakh population in the country, while Gujarat has a total of 137 cases per one lakh population, which is very low compared to other states. He added that as a result of intensive work of the state health department, Gujarat has been awarded in the bronze category for reducing the number of TB cases by 20% in the year 2021. He added that TB has been eradicated by the state government. Completely free treatment and medicines are being made available to the patients under the eradication program.
