Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Vijay Rupani expressed confidence that the state government’s next garment policy will become a capable medium in making Gujarat a garment hub.
In this context, he said that the new garment policy aims to provide employment to about one lakh people with large-scale investments. Vijay Rupani said as Arvind Mills has set up 3 new facilities at the cost of 350 crores it will be suitable to all. Arvind Limited Chairman and Managing Director Mr. Sanjay Lalbhai gave details about this new facility at the presentation meeting in front of CM. As a result of these, new facilities 12 thousand people will get employment opportunities and many women will get this employment opportunity.
Chief Minister said that in the state government apparel and garment policy, women workers in monthly installments of Rs. 4000 will be paid, Garment Apparel Industries also praised women for their extensive employment-training and doormetorey support. In this meeting, Chief Minister was informed that Arvind Mills Limited will be providing training and doormetorey support to the Vanbandhu-tribal women especially in these facilities.
During the recent Vibrant road show of the Delhi and Mumbai between the Government of Gujarat and the Apparel Promotion Council - during the Curtain Raiser, four MUUs were signed. Apparel production has been done to insure investments in the sector. As a result of this new facility, the Chief Minister expressed the hope that opening up opportunities for local self employment will also open up due to the extensive development of ancillary industries corresponding to the garment industry.
