Ahmedabad : Phantom Catalytic Reactor plant launched by chief minister. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on the occasion of inauguration of “Phantom Catalytic Reactor” plant at Vatva GIDC, Ahmedabad said that Gujarat has always been at the forefront of environmental protection as well as industrial progress i.e. balanced development. At present, the states are evaluated by the Government of India on the basis of 30 important criteria in which Gujarat is the best in five criteria – FDI, GDP, Exports, Employment and Water Management. The waste water treatment plant was inaugurated by a video conference from Gandhinagar in the virtual presence of Union Minister Prakash Javadekar from New Delhi. Equipped with new Phantom Catalytic Reactor (FCR) technology installed by Green Environment Co-operative Society at Vatva GIDC, about 700 industries of Vatva GIDC will get the benefit of this CETP and easily comply with environmental law standards, such confidence was expressed by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. With the successful implementation of the world’s first emission trading scheme by the state government in Surat, we have been able to reduce the amount of airborne pollutants in the air by about 50%. Considering the success of the emission trading scheme in Surat area, it has been decided to implement the scheme in about 20 industries in Ahmedabad. The Chief Minister also gave details of the state-of-the-art technology which is an example of environmental protection. Regarding the various decisions taken in the field of nature conservation along with industrialization in Gujarat, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that after the purification of industrial wastewater from industries like Jetpur, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, a pipeline project has been planned for deep disposal in an environmentally safe place. This pipeline project will solve the problem of water pollution, significantly improve the water quality of rivers and will directly benefit small scale industries up to 5%.
Vijay Rupani said that the system of joint wastewater treatment plant in the state for purification and disposal of wastewater arising from industrial units has been expedited. At present there are a total of 6 joint wastewater treatment plants in operation in the state. As many as 15 new mass wastewater treatment plants have been planned in the state. Advanced technology is being used in this purification plant. The Chief Minister added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that advance planning is essential to protect the climate and the environment. Only by working together to maintain the balance of water, air and land can we provide a better environment and future for our future generations, he said. In this context, as part of environmental protection planning, a separate department for climate change has already been started in Gujarat for many years. Keeping pace with the times, Gujarat has taken important decisions like water management, recycling of household wastewater in industries, solar policy, electric vehicle policy. The world is concerned about the preservation of the environment and for its protection industries are increasingly adopting the concept of cleaner process and cleaner technology. “We all know that environmental laws are getting stricter day by day and natural resources are dwindling. In such circumstances, the use of advanced technology instead of conventional technology is an urgent need,” he said.
