Gandhinagar : Prime Minister chaired a meeting with all Chief Ministers to review corona situation in their states, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that continuous efforts are been made by the state government to provide relief during the pandemic. The state government is working with private sector and social organizations in such pandemic to provide relief works. At a time when the entire country is fighting against COVID-19 under the visionary leadership of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, all the states have to fight this battle together. “Our victory is certain if we fight together, added CM. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi today interacted with the Chief Ministers of the states of India through video conferencing. Addressing a video conference, Chief Minister Rupani said that, there were 42 thousand beds in the state on 15th March which are now raised to 90 thousand beds. In more than 1800 COVID hospitals 11500 I.C.U beds and 51 thousand oxygen beds are available. Apart from it testing had also been increased from 50,000 to 1.75 lakh. Which include 70 thousand RTPCR test also. CM Rupani said that various socio-religious organizations of the state have also come forward in the fight against Corona. In a rural district like Morbi, 5 covid health centers with a capacity of 630 beds, Dedicated COVID hospital by BAPS in Vadodara and 15 community care centers in Surat etc. are excellent examples of this.
The CM said that a task force of specialist doctors has been formed in the state which includes eminent doctors from government and private sector. With their guidance and advice, the policy is being changed from time to time. Just yesterday, the task force advised the use of favipiravir and ivermectin for mild and moderate patients. This will help reduce the viral load in corona patients. The CM said that the distribution system has been strengthened in Gujarat to maintain the supply of oxygen. Efforts are also being made to meet the growing demand for oxygen in hospitals as the number of critically ill patients is increasing, he added. He expressed confidence that Gujarat would be able to gain effective control over corona in the coming days through adequate vaccination and strict adherence to COVID approach behaviour in the state. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, Chief Secretary Anil Mukim, Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister K. Kailashnathan, Principal Secretary to Health Dr. Jayanti Ravi, Chief Minister’s Secretary Ashwini Kumar and state DGP Ashish Bhatia.
