Gandhinagar : All the departments of the state government will now make any purchase by the government e-market place by GeM, Chief Secretary Mr. J. N. Sing said on GeM’s launching event for 6 weeks from Mahatma Mandir today. If there is a need to purchase anything other than the GeM platform, then that department will have to seek permission from the industry department. This platform will be successful as more buyers and sellers join the GeM so that it is important to give priority as the Chief Secretary added.
The campaign aimed at spreading awareness about the government e-marketplace (GeM) by the state and central government has been carried out from 6 September to 17 October across the country. This includes registration of buyers and sellers, including workshops, road shows, events and other information, education and communication activities. On this occasion, GeM's CEO Shri Radha Chauhan presented the details about GeM and presented benefits to it. He said that through the GeM's plate form, there would be transparency and speed in purchasing government departments. Radha S. Chauhan said that during the period of awareness, GIM Customer registration drive has also been launched to increase on-boarding and purchase by central, state and local agencies. Seller registration drives are also being started for additional categories on-boarding. And he also said that central ministers, states and their agencies, including government offices, will be employed with sharing the list of key vendors for on-boarding at GEM.
