Gandhinagar : Relief work after cyclone is the first priority of the government, said chief minister Vijay Rupani. In Gujarat, pre-cyclone rescue and post-cyclone relief operations have been the first priority of the government. The micro-planning done by the government of Gujarat before the cyclone, the cooperation of the people and the evacuation of more than two lakh people from the affected areas on a war footing have resulted in the avoidance of major casualties in Gujarat. In the aftermath of the cyclone, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani immediately visited the affected areas to examine the relief work being carried out and inspected the affected areas. The damage was surveyed on a war footing after the May 15 cyclone. Not only the damage survey but also the entire situation have been monitored by the state revenue department – considering the seriousness. He also issued a resolution announcing an economic package for the people of the area on May 23, 2021, showing the sensitivity of the state government towards the common man and administrative progress. In addition to the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) for the purpose of housing for the purpose of complete or partial damage to the areas affected by cyclone Tauktae on May 17 and 18, 2021, special assistance from state government funds. The Chief Minister has taken this decision in the interest of the affected people by passing a resolution in just six days on May 23, 2021. In which residential raw / lined houses which were completely destroyed or severely damaged due to cyclone were given a total of Rs. Assistance of Rs. 95,100/ – in case of partially damaged raw / lined houses i.e. roof-pipes blown away, in case of wall collapse, if there is a pakka house Rs. 5,200 assistance from SDRF as well as Rs. 19,800 received from the state government budget a total of Rs. 25,000 assistance and if there is a raw house, Rs. 3,200 assistance from SDRF as well as Rs. 21,800 received from the state government budget for a total of Rs. 25,000 has been decided to provide.

In addition, completely destroyed or partially damaged huts will be given Rs. 4,100 assistance from SDRF as well as Rs. 5,900 received from the state government budget a total of Rs. 10,000 Assistance has been decided to provide. It is pertinent to note here that Gujarat government has taken the approach of not affecting anyone in compensation for the damage caused by the cyclone. An important decision has also been taken to pay assistance to such houses from the state government’s budget.
