Gandhinagar : Reward is the result of hard work, said governor Acharya Devvrat. Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat wished the award winning students at the Gold Medal Award Ceremony of Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University. The Governor said that the youth should be committed to restoring the ancient splendor of India. Addressing the graduating students, the Governor said that the reward is the result of hard work. Nation-society and families have high expectations of young talents. Then the graduates become the best citizens through the practice of truth and duty and worship of knowledge and work for the welfare of the nation. The Governor extended special congratulations to the gold medal winning students and said that Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati and other great men had advocated for women’s education. Our scriptures have described the importance of honoring women through ‘Yatra Naryastu Pujyante Ramante Tatra Devata’. At a time when the country is undergoing multifaceted development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Governor said that the youth should strive for the creation of a self-reliant India.
He urged the students to use the knowledge acquired for the betterment of the society and the nation and not to confine it to themselves. Gold embedded medals were awarded to the students who passed with the highest marks in the year 2018-19 at the convention hall at Patan Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University. On this occasion, the first Chancellor of the University, Kulinchandra P. Yagnik was awarded the degree of D.Lit. On this occasion, Kulinchandra Yagnik said that such an opportunity comes only occasionally. He recalled the university’s memoirs on the occasion. At the same time, the people of Patan went on a one-day strike in favor of Patan University. He said that gold medals are awarded every year but today in 9 years I got a gold medal which I did not even imagine. He called the university the Gangotri of Sanskrit. On this occasion, the Chancellor of the University, Dr. J. J. Vora, congratulated the students and said that they have earned a name in the field of education, but they have shown the sacraments acquired by their parents and teachers in the society. Dr. DM Patel, Registrar in charge of the University, Deans of various disciplines, professors, executive members, Gold Medal winning students, their parents were present on the occasion.
