Mumbai : The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque (SZGM) in Abu Dhabi has achieved a new milestone, advancing in the Top Attractions category of TripAdvisor’s 2025 global report. Ranked eighth among 25 of the world’s most distinguished landmarks, the mosque climbed two places from its 2024 ranking while maintaining its status as the number one attraction in the Middle East.

The recognition places SZGM within the top one per cent of more than eight million landmarks reviewed worldwide, reaffirming its role as a symbol of cultural tourism and peaceful coexistence.

In addition, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Fujairah earned a spot among the top 10 per cent of global landmarks, an impressive feat following the recent activation of visitor services at the site.

H.E. Dr. Yousif Al Obaidli, Director General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre (SZGMC), credited the achievement to the UAE’s visionary leadership and the centre’s strategic focus on enhancing visitor experiences.
“This recognition crowns a continuous series of initiatives, from cultural programmes to infrastructural upgrades, and highlights the role of Emirati youth in delivering world-class tours that embody the mosque’s civilisational message,” he said.

With over seven million annual visitors, the Abu Dhabi mosque stands not only as a place of worship but also as a global cultural destination. Beyond prayer halls, it features the Souq Al Jami’ retail space, a jogging track, exhibitions, the Dome of Peace, the Light & Peace Museum, and immersive experiences such as Diya – A Universe of Light. Visitors can also explore guided cultural tours, multilingual multimedia devices, and exclusive “Unseen Glimpses” tours.

The mosque’s growing international reputation also makes it a key destination for global dignitaries and cultural dialogue. Offering innovative experiences such as evening Sura tours and inclusive sign-language guided visits, SZGM continues to evolve as a beacon of peace, heritage, and intercultural understanding.
