Vallabh Vidyanagar : Startups and innovation will play a big role in India’s economy. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Electronics and Information Technology, visited Charuttar Vidya Mandal University at Vidyanagar, observed the startup project presented by the students of the university, interacted with the students and provided guidance. Inaugurating the “New India for Young India” program on the occasion, Union Minister of State Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that the coming decade belongs to India. The slogan of “New India for Young India” will make the next 10 years meaningful together with the government and the youth. No need to be attached to a large family to start a startup today. The government’s Startup and Innovation Policy and other support provide a platform for startups to scale from startups to markets. The Minister said that startups and innovation would play a vital role in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of building India’s 5 trillion economy. The digital economy will contribute one trillion dollars to this five trillion dollar economy. India has a lot of opportunities in the coming years. Today’s youth need to take advantage of this opportunity. A new India is being built on the pillars of Make in India, Skill India and Digital India. “Today, India is fast emerging as a big market for startups and entrepreneurship. Not only that, but today India is emerging as a reliable partner for business across the globe,” he said. Today we are ranked third in the world with 100 Unicorn startups. Which is a matter of pride for all of us. A new India is being built on the pillars of Make in India, Skill India and Digital India and India is moving towards becoming self-reliant.
Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that due to the Prime Minister’s idea of digitization, today we are emerging as the world’s largest fintech ecosystem. We are at the forefront of UPI transactions worldwide. We have made huge strides in electronics manufacturing. While in mobile manufacturing we have become the second largest in the world. Even at a time when the covid pandemic was engulfing the nations of the world, India has shown the world its potential. Despite the Corona and the subsequent struggles of the world’s major powers, India has set a new world record by providing 200 million voluntary vaccinations and free food to millions of people. On this occasion, Minister of State for Higher Education of Gujarat Dr. Kuber Dindor said that great men like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Bhaikaka have given a rich legacy of education. Charuttar Vidya Mandal is truly realizing its ideas. Industry along with education is the foundation of this institution. Stating that the state government is committed to make Gujarat a hub of education in the entire country, the Minister added that the government has undertaken a number of initiatives in the last two decades to accelerate the quality of education in the state. The Minister said that 21st century is the century of youth and that is why the state government has announced a Student Startup Policy with a budget of Rs. 200 crore to encourage youth entrepreneurs in Gujarat. On this occasion, Union Minister of State for Skill Development Rajiv Chandrasekhar inaugurated the Idea Lab at Charutar Vidyamandal University and interacted with the students and provided them guidance. Mehul Patel, Joint Secretary, gave a welcome address at the beginning of the program and Vishal Singh, Principal, ADIT, gave a vote of thanks at the end.
