Ahmedabad : While access rain has taken a break in most parts of the state for the last two days, the meteorological department today issued one more forecast. According to the meteorological department, there will be rains in the state from August 29. Due to the well-marked low pressure system in the Bay of Bengal, the state will get rain again. While 3 days of normal to light rain is forecast. South Gujarat and Saurashtra will receive heavy rains on August 29. There will be light rain in Dadra, Nagar Haveli, Surat, Navsari Valsad, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Gandhinagar and other cities.
The state has received an average rainfall of 107.61 per cent for the current season. The highest rainfall of 219.28 per cent was recorded in Kutch zone, 141.53 per cent in Saurashtra zone, 94.97 per cent in North Gujarat, 92.68 per cent in South Gujarat zone and 80.58 per cent in East Central zone. The rains in the state have affected 288 roads. This includes 240 Panchayat owned roads. Active efforts are being made by the administration to restore these routes expeditiously.
