Gandhinagar : Universities got approval to the center of excellence. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has decided to give in-principle approval of ‘Center of Excellence’ to seven prestigious universities of Gujarat for the purpose of gaining special recognition in the field of education at the international level. It has been decided to give in-principle approval to the ‘Center of Excellence’ to Nirma University, Charuset University, Ahmedabad University, Marwadi University, PDPU, CEPT & DA-IICT . The Chief Minister said that with these seven institutions being given the status of Center of Excellence, an action plan would be prepared to make their special contribution on the global stage. This decision will enhance the quality of education in university and give it a global touch. In addition, international standard infrastructure will be available in the universities for the students in which facilities like high tech support and student friendly classrooms, best faculties, laboratories, libraries, hostels will be available.
He said that a ‘Study in Gujarat’ campaign has also been launched with the aim of attracting students from India and abroad to Gujarat for higher education, which will be further emphasized. The Chief Minister said with confidence that seven universities of Gujarat would establish their leading position in the world of education through the Center of Excellence. This decision will give more impetus to higher education, research, innovation and startups in Gujarat. In addition, there will be a global exchange of education. Gujarat students will benefit from the world’s best practices in the field of education. The Chief Minister directed that the heads of these seven universities should meet in the next one week under the chairmanship of Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama to study the top 10 universities of the country and the top 10 universities of the world and prepare an action plan under the Center of Excellence-COE in Gujarat. Seven universities will prepare their action plans and present them to the Chief Minister in the next two weeks. The meeting was attended by Chief Minister’s Secretary Ashwini Kumar, heads of seven universities and senior officials of the education department.
