Gandhinagar : University is dedicated to the security of the whole nation, said prime minister Narendra Modi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the first convocation of the Rashtriya Raksha Vishwavidyalaya and dedicated its state-of-the-art building to the nation. On this occasion Union Home Minister and Co-operation Minister Amit Shah, Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel were present. Recalling the special significance of the day, the Prime Minister paid tribute to the Mahatma Gandhi and the heroic agitators participating in the Dandi march, adding that “this movement led by Gandhiji against the injustice of the British made the British government realize the collective power of our Indians.” Modi stressed on the need to change the image of police and security personnel. The depiction of police in popular culture also does not help in this regard. He also noted the humanitarian work done by police personnel during the Corona epidemic. “After independence, the country’s security sector needed to be reformed. An assumption was developed that we should be wary of khaki. But now that has changed. When people look at khaki now, they are assured of help, “he added. Police personnel are facing a stressful situation due to lack of joint family support network. Stressing on the need for yoga experts to stay stress free in the security forces, Modi said, “Stress free training activities are the need of the hour to strengthen the security forces of the country.”

Stressing on the importance of technology in security and policing work, Shri Modi said that if the criminals use technology, it is also necessary to use technology to catch them. This emphasis on technology will also enable people with disabilities to contribute in this field. Modi added that there are National Law University, Raksha University and Forensic Science University in Gandhinagar area. He emphasized the need for coordination between these institutions through regular joint seminars to build holistic education in these respective fields. He said, “Never mistake this for a police university. This is a defense university that cares about the overall security of the country. ” He appealed to the students that they should always keep the values of humanity integral in their growth and never lose their sense of service in their endeavours. He noted with satisfaction the growing number of women in the security sector, adding, “We are seeing more participation of women in the defense sector. Whether it is science, education or security, women are leading the way.” Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the students of Rashtriya Raksha University will make their contribution in building a self-safe nation. He further exclaimed when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he started looking at the issue of law and order as a state responsibility from a holistic approach. In the name of modernizing the state police system, all the police stations in the state were computerized and all the police stations were connected with one connectivity. Developed modern software and gave computer training to the police personnel working in the service. Prisons and forensic labs were later added to the system.

Shah added that through the formation of Law University, Raksha Shakti University and Forensic Science University, a strong framework for law and order education was created by the visionary Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Young people need a change. If the youth decides a subject for his/her career and if they are given special training for the purpose of that subject, then they can become an expert in that subject. Shah added that necessary structural reforms have been made in any sector of the country be it economic sector, social sector, external security or internal security. In the days to come, the scope of this National Defense University will expand and there will be a radical change in the direction of a self-sufficient nation. The Vice Chancellor of RRU, Bimal N. Patel, in his welcome address, said the university aims to be an educational-research-training ecosystem for national security and police.
