Gandhinagar : The Chief Minister e-launched various projects of sports, youth and cultural department through video conference from Gandhinagar. These development works includes Mobile to Sports platform, Employment Guidance Centers for Athletes and project to develop sports ground in 500 villages. On this occasion, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has expressed the commitment of the state government to provide intensive training to the enthusiastic and talented sportspersons of the state at the national and international level and to ensure their employment. In this regard, he said that the youth of the state should show their skills in sports and brighten the name of Gujarat. He also launched the Facebook page of this new initiative in presence of Minister of State for Sports Ishwarsinh Patel. Chief Minister clearly stated that just like Gujarat is number one in startup rankings, in innovation, in establishment of various universities, now we have to become a leader in sports activities in the future. To this end, the government has taken an innovative initiative to develop sports fields in 500 villages in an effort to develop sports at the rural level in order to motivate the youth towards sports and equip them to meet the challenges facing the youth of the world.
He added that the state government has set up a vast network of sports training through the Sports Authority of Gujarat and developed the infrastructure to provide intensive training to the youth through sports complexes in every district up to the Olympic Games. Not only that, a budget of Rs. 500 crore has been allocated for the development of sports activities.. Khel Mahakumbh and Kala Mahakumbh are a platform for youth to show their skills and passion and encouragement. The Chief Minister welcomed the initiative of Mobile to Sports to provide training to the youth and sports lovers at home in this era of Corona pandemic which enable them to become proficient in their favorite sport. Minister of State for Sports Ishwarsinh Patel lauded this indicatives of creating awareness about sports among the youth of the state. He also expressed that under the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister, Gujarat has been able to give and will continue to give many talents in the field of sports and arts. On this occasion, Sangeet Natya Akademi President Pankaj Bhatt, Additional Chief Secretary of the Department C.V.Som, Secretary, Sports Authority of Gujarat Anjanaben and officials joined from Gandhinagar.
