Rajkot : Year 2021 will be the year of Health solutions, said Prime minister Narendra Modi. Inaugurating the AIIMS on virtual medium, at Rajkot, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the laying of the foundation stone of Rajkot AIIMS today has added another link to strengthen the infrastructure of the country’s health sector. This will give a new impetus to healthcare across the country along with Gujarat. Describing 2020 as the year of health challenges, the Prime Minister said that year 2021 will be the year of health solutions against last year’s challenges. Today, India is going to make significant contributions in both “Future of Health” and “Health of the Future” through solid work in the field of health in the year 2021. Appreciating the dedication of the Corona warriors, Prime Minister Modi said, “As a result of the united struggle of the people of the country against Corona in the difficult times of Corona, we have been able to fight against Corona.” During this time, India has shown the world that the country is at the forefront of the health sector through the successful treatment of more than one crore corona infections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that in the past, poor parents did not seek treatment for their children due to financial constraints even though they were ill to avoid debt in their lives. Today, the government’s security cover in the form of Ayushman Bharat Yojana has become a blessing for such poor families. With this scheme, so far 1.5 crore poor patients have been able to get health treatment up to Rs. 2 lakh free of cost.
Apart from this, due to more than 7,000 herbal medicine centers spread across the country, more than Rs 3600 crore has been saved. There has been a significant reduction in maternal mortality through Pradhan Mantri Matru-vandana Yojana, Poshan Yojana, etc. In the field of medical education, work is being done in “mission mode”. He said the central government would set up one AIIMS in each state and one medical college for every three Lok Sabha. Governor Acharya Devvrat said that AIIMS would be a cornerstone for the health of Gujarat, adding that he hoped that the organization would grow rapidly and become dedicated to the service of the people. He said that the people of Gujarat would be as happy with the water of Narmada as they were with the launch of this institute. The creation of this institute will create employment along with the health and well-being of the people. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani made it clear that Gujarat has received AIIMS as a result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foresight to ensure that the people of Gujarat do not have to go out of Gujarat for higher health care in times of serious illness. With the construction of this institution, which provides the largest facility in the health sector, in Rajkot, the people of Gujarat will now be able to get the highest super specialty service in the health sector at home. AIIMS will prove to be a boon in the field of healthcare facilities in the state.
On this occasion, Dr. P.K. Dave, President of All India Institute of Medical Sciences gave a virtual welcome speech. While MP Mohan Kundaria in his occasional speech thanked the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister for laying the foundation stone of the country’s 21st AIIMS to be realized at Rajkot, and expressed optimism that this institution would be a haven of health for the people of Gujarat.
