Gujarat recorded 59% of voting which is less compared to 2019

New Delhi : 64.58 percentage of voters turned out in the third phase of voting for Lok Sabha Election 2024. In this 3rd phase total voting happened on 93 seats in various states. Assam recorded highest voting of 81.71 percentage where as Uttar Pradesh recorded the lowest average voting of 57.34 percentage. These are the percentages which are as per the polling stations. After third phase, voting on almost 50% seats are over.

The overall voting procedure was smooth except the violence in West Bengal’s Murshidabad and Jangipur. Gujarat recorded the lowest voting percentage compared to 2014 and 2019. Against this 64.58 percentage of average voting, the voters turn out in Gujarat is 59 %. Various factors affected for the low voting in Gujarat. On the voting day, there was a severe heat wave and the temperature was almost 43 degree Celsius, which is the highest in the season. Because of severe heat wave, voters didn’t turnout and couldn’t reach at polling booth.

PM Narendra Modi cast his vote at 7.30 am in the morning in Nishant School in Ranip area. Home Minister Amit Shah also accompanied him during his voting. After that PM Modi returned for the campaign for fourth phase of voting in this election. Home minister Amit Shah also cast his vote with his family in Naranpura areas of Ahmedabad city. Former Chief Minister and Governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandiben Patel also cast her vote in Shilaj area. Chief minister Bhupendra Patel cast his vote.

Fate of these giant leaders is locked in EVM

In this third phase of voting, fate of some giant leaders is locked in EVM. In this phase, many Union Ministers including Home Minister Amit Shah, other ministers like Jyotiraditya Scindia is contesting from Guna, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya from Porbandar, Purushottam Rupala from Rajkot, Prahlad Joshi from Dharwad are contesting. Former Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Chauhan is a candidate from Vidisha, Digvijay Singh from Rajgarh, NCP leader Supriya Sule from Baramati.
