Gandhinagar : PM Narendra Modi will present a digital gift to Gujarat on Saturday, October 24, on the eighth day of Navratri celebrations for the three development projects of health protection, tourism development and agricultural welfare. The PM will inaugurate these three projects in Gujarat on Saturday, October 24 at 10:30 am via video link from New Delhi. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani from Saurashtra’s Junagadh and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel from Ahmedabad will participate in the e-launching. The UN Mehta Heart Research Institute, located on the Ahmedabad campus of Asia’s largest civil hospital, has received equipments at a cost of Rs 50 crore, it has been made more equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and treatment. The hospital, which offers the best treatment for heart disease, has a facility of 20 beds. In addition, a separate system has been set up in the hospital to provide intensive care to young children or those who have heart disease from birth. Apart from this, the PM is also scheduled to inaugurate the ropeway to and from Ambajidham on the top of Girnar mountain. Asia’s longest 5.5 km With its length as well as the country’s state-of-the-art technology, this ropeway will now allow thousands of daily commuters to reach the top of Girnar with ease and without climbing steps. A total of 8 trolley cabins with a capacity of 6 persons in each trolley cabin will be operational in this ropeway and about 200 passengers will be able to move around the bay every hour. This ropeway will also be a new tourist attraction for the millions of tourists who come to see the world famous Asiatic Lion of Gujarat. Environmentalists will enjoy the view of Girnar forest from a height through the rope-way, which will boost the state’s tourism industry. And more employment will be created at the local level. Along with these two development projects, the Prime Minister will also virtually launch the first phase of the Kisan Suryodaya Yojana on Saturday, which will provide electricity to the farmers of the state for irrigation and farming. In the first phase, farmers of 1540 villages of Dahod, Junagadh and Gir-Somnath will be covered under this Kisan Suryodaya Yojana. Under Kisan Suryodaya Yojana, the Government of India has set a target of 15 gigawatts of unconventional power generation capacity by the end of the year. Policies have also been announced by the state government to promote non-conventional energy production (wind and solar energy). As Gujarat is on the western edge of India, geographically unconventional energy sources have proved to be a boon, especially for wind and solar power generation. The current solar power generation capacity of the state is 315 MW which is planned to be increased to 1050 MW in the coming years.
