Gandhinagar : Schools or the class 6th to 8th will be going to reopen rom 18th February, 2021. As per the resolution issued by the education department, schools for class 6th to 8th will reopen from 18th February 2021 across the State. Detailing on the resolution issued by the department Secretary to Education Department Dr. Vinod Rao said that the decision has been taken with a view to re-start education for class 6th to 8th in all the primary schools across the state, along with it schools will have to adhere and strictly follow the guidelines of Government of India as well the guidelines issued by the State’s Education Department dated 8th January 2021. Instructions have been given to all the District Education Officers as well as Primary Education Officers to ensure that the schools comply with the SOP. Dr. Rao said that, due to efforts made by state’s health department covid-19 transition has reduced at that time Government has decided to re-open the class for 6th to 8th keeping in mind the interest of education of students. He added that attendance in this offline education will be voluntary and the educational institution will have to get the prescribed consent form from the parents of the students and the present system of online classes will continue for the students who do not join the offline classes.

Education department’s resolution clarifies that either the student or teacher or other staff who are infected with covid-19 must not join the school as well schools in containment zones shall remain shut. Maintaining social distancing, wearing mask as well following the SOP will remain mandatory for both students as well the teachers. It is worth to note here that, the State Government continued the education even during Covid-19 pandemic through online classes in a wider interest of students of the state. Classes for 9th and 11th have already re-opened from 1st February as well first year classes of the college have been made functional from 8th February.  About 40 percent students in the early stages of classes 9 to 12 joined the offline education, which has now increased to 70 to 72 percent. In these efforts of the state government, parents are also enthusiastically cooperating for the interest of their children’s education.
