Ahmedabad : Postage stamp launched by Prime Minister on diamond jubilee of Gujarat High Court. The establishment day of Gujarat High Court has completed 70 years. As a part of which, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi from New Delhi launched a postage stamp through the virtual medium. PM launched five e-stamps on this occasion. Union Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad from New Delhi and Chief Minister Vijay Rupani from Gandhinagar addressed the occasion. On this occasion, Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, State Law Minister Pradipsinh Jadeja were present. In the e-program, Supreme Court Judge Justice M.R. Shah, Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta and Advocate General of Gujarat Kamal Trivedi made the occasional address. Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court justice Vikram Nath gave a welcome speech and gave detailed information about the development journey of Gujarat High Court since its inception. In the postage stamp release program, the Central Justice Secretary, current and retired judges of the Gujarat High Court, Government Advocate, Additional Solicitor General, Senior Advocates of Gujarat High Court, Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Bar Council of Gujarat, President and office bearers of Advocates Association of Gujarat High Court, Senior officials of High Court Registry were present through virtual medium. May 01, 2020 marked the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Gujarat High Court. Due to the epidemic of Covid-19, the diamond jubilee celebration of the establishment of Gujarat High Court last year was celebrated only by full court reference which was hppened on May 01, 2020.
