Gandhinagar : Corona situation in Gujarat is under control, said chief minister Vijay Rupani. All facilities, including adequate covid beds, are available for immediate treatment of infected citizens. The Chief Minister said that the state government has taken immediate steps to curb the transmission of corona as part of which a weekend curfew was first implemented in Ahmedabad city with the increase in cases of corona. Besides, night curfew has been imposed in Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot from 8 pm to 8 am which will continue till the situation is brought under control. The number of people in weddings and public functions in the state has also been reduced from 200 to 100.

The Chief Minister said that the number of covid beds has been increased in other cities including Ahmedabad. At present there are about 55,000 isolation beds available in which 82% i.e. about 45,000 beds are vacant. The 108 ambulance service has been made more effective for admitting Covid patients to the hospital. In addition, corona-infected patients can get corona treatment in a proper hospital. In addition, covid related treatment is made available to the people at home through 108 helpline. So far more than 2 lakh 78 thousand people have benefited from it. Bonded doctors are required to appear immediately under the Epidemic Act. The number of General Surveillance and Community Surveillance teams has been greatly increased in this corona situation. The Chief Minister said that 1100 Dhanvantari Raths were in operation for the treatment of Covid affected areas which has been increased to 1700. Doorstep OPD is made available by this Rath, which has become very popular. So far 1.52 lakh people have availed this service including patients suffering from various diseases including cold and cough. He said that the Gujarat government has significantly increased the rate of RT-PCR testing and antigen testing in the state under which about 70,000 tests have been conducted yesterday. Apart from this, Sanjeevani Corona Home Service – Home Isolation has been arranged for Corona patients in Ahmedabad city.

Services are provided on 3000 calls daily through about 70 Sanjeevani Rath. In which doctors and paramedical staff provide daily care to patients in home isolation and treat them at home while critically ill patients with corona are admitted to hospitals. Apart from this, corona tests are also being carried out at places like highways, railway stations, commercial buildings. In which so far approximately 11 lakh tests have been done at various places. He added that an elder welfare service has been started to save the senior citizens of Ahmedabad city from covid and to give them proper treatment. Under this service, medicines are given by regularly checking the health of the elders. So far more than 18,000 senior citizens have availed this service i.e. the Government of Gujarat is making continuous efforts to prevent corona infection in the state and provide complete treatment to corona infected patients.
