Vadodara : Governor paid tribute to the martyrs. Ministry of Culture, Government of India and M. S. University, had jointly organized the Martyrs’ Day celebrations held on auspices Martyrs’ Day. Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat paid tribute to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed everything for the freedom of the nation. The Governor said that the revolutionaries had sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country and liberated the country from British slavery. He said that it is a true tribute to the heroic martyrs that the nation is committed to building an Aatma Nirbhar Bharat with the supreme karma mantra. He added that India is celebrating the elixir of independence on the occasion of 75 years of independence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inspired the young generation and the society through the Jan Abhiyan of the Aazadi ka Amrut Mahotsav with the resolve to express gratitude to the revolutionaries of the nation. The Governor also said that a nation which forgets its own history of men and revolutionaries is erased from the pages of the history of the nation. The martyred revolutionaries gave up everything and made freedom their goal in life and were martyred to establish the pride of the country. Sardar Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, all three revolutionaries had sacrificed their lives on this day. On the occasion of Maharishi Arvind’s 150th birth anniversary, he described him as a great philosopher, a devotee of Indian culture and a freedom fighter. On this occasion, he said that Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati, who was born on the land of Gujarat, preached for Swaraj in his Amargranth Satyartha Prakash and with his inspiration revolutionaries like Lala Lajpat Rai, Sardar Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad and Shyamji Krishna Verma gave their all for the freedom of the country. He expressed his gratitude to such freedom fighters and paid tribute to them.

Education Minister Jitu Waghani said that due to the martyrdom of many heroes we have got freedom from British slavery. These martyrs have sprinkled the foundation of India’s independence with their own blood. We are breathing in the open air as a result of their penance, sacrifice and dedication to the altar of freedom. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started the nectar festival of independence so that our generation does not forget this supreme sacrifice. This occasion is to commemorate the epic of the martyrs of the country. Today we have to think a thousand times if we want to give up even a little bit, but in order to give freedom to the country, the freedom fighters fought against the British irrespective of their families and homes and climbed the gallows with smiling faces. Due to his sacrifice, the country has got freedom. Now we have to perpetuate the independence of this country. Chancellor Dr. V. K. Srivastava gave a literal welcome and outlined the program. The vote of thanks was given by Registrar Chudasama. The atmosphere was energized by the patriotic songs performed by a student of the performing arts department on the occasion. Seeing this atmosphere, former MP Jayaben Thakkar also sang patriotic songs. Higher education secretary T. Natarajan, Municipal Commissioner Shalini Agarwal, Collector A. B. Gore, leading personality Vijay Shah was present.
