Gandhinagar : Gujarat Jail Department has recently received the second award for the best implementation of the “Good Practices on Crime Criminal Tracking and Network System ICJS” at its annual meeting. Additional Director General of Police Dr. K. L. N. Rao exhibited the award to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in the presence of Minister of State for Home Department Mr. Harsh Sanghvi. The CCTNS project has been developed by NIC under Ministry of Home Department, Government of India. ICJS portal has been launched under this project. A system has implemented that the investigating agency can view data of Police, Courts, Prisons, Vehicles involved in crime, Missing person’s information, Visa-Passport, Central agencies, FSL, Prosecution, Ellis (Arms License) departments on a single digital secure platform at the national level on this portal. Chief Principal Secretary to CM K. Kailashnathan, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Rajkumar joined on the occasion. On the occasion CM also released the English version book of Additional Director General of Police Dr. K. L. N. Rao “Jail-Past and Present”. The glorious history of Gujarat’s jails associated with Gandhi-Sardar and the current prisoner reform work being undertaken by the Gujarat government will now reach enlightened readers at doorsteps and abroad through this English version of the book. The Gujarati version of Dr. Rao’s book “Jail Itihas ane Vartman” has been published earlier in August-2021.
