Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani honored all the four players of Gujarat for the first time in the eighteenth Asian Games, a gold medal and three bronze medal winners in history, said that Gujarat can now produce world-winning athletes. Congratulating winning players, the Chief Minister said that the successful winners of the Asian Games, Gujarat’s sportsmen have not only glorified Gujarat but have made the country’s name globally. He also said that these four successful players have shown the world that even the Gujarati can compete with the world and win medals.
The Chief Minister said that being a champion winner in international sports such as Asian Games, the success of the player is the result of being a winner. The Chief Minister further added that the state’s opportunities to make the state’s success in the Olympic Games are to be created in the state. Chief Minister honored him with gold medalist Sarita Gaikwad in the 400m relay, Bronze medalist Ankita Raina in tennis, Harish Desai and Bronze medalist Harmit Desai of Table Tennis and Manek Thakkar were honored with the Sports Pratibha Award. In which Sarita Gaikwad gets Rs. 1 crore, Ankita Raina gets Rs. 50 lakhs and Harmit Desai and Manav Thakkar get Rs. 30-30 lacs rupees. Because of the talent of the players and the best opportunities provided by the state government, the youth of Gujarat is making a success at the world level.
