Gandhinagar : In the presence of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, an agreement was signed between the Industry Department of the Government of Gujarat and the Welspun Group of Rs. 1250 crore for steel plant and Aryan pipe projects to be constructed in Kutch. The MoU was signed by Mr. M.K Das, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister and Additional Secretary to the Industry, as well as Mr. Vipul Mathur, Managing Director, Welspun Group. Mr. Goenka, Chairman, Welspun Group, joined at the signing of the MOU. The Welspun Group project will provide employment to about 5,000 youths in the Kutch area.
Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, the state government has recently announced that under the new industrial policy, the project will be launched by Welspun Group in the hinterland of the state in the name of self-reliant India. It is pertinent to point out here that the Welspun Group has provided extensive employment opportunities to the local youth by implementing its various projects in post-earthquake reconstruction in Kutch. The Welspun Group announced the setting up of their plant on August 29, 2020 during a special discussion session for industries on the new Gujarat Industrial Policy 2020 chaired by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
