Ahmedabad : In the next few hours, the cyclonic storm is going to hit the coast of Gujarat. In view of this, the government has done preparations at war level and teams of NDRF have been deployed. Three lakh people living in storm-affected areas have been taken to safer places. Because of dangerous storm, 80 trains have been canceled. Apart from this, a decision has been taken to stop the aviation operations at the airports. According to the Meteorological Department, cyclone ‘Vayu’ will hit Gujarat coast on Thursday afternoon.
Various groups are making packets of food in the wake of cyclonic storm wind in Rajkot of Gujarat. As per the instructions of the government officials, the food packets will be sent to the affected areas of the state.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the cyclonic storm is likely to move north-north-west. Apart from this, it will affect the districts of Amreli, Gir Somnath, Diu, Junagadh, Porbandar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Devbhumi Dwarka and Kutch coast. Wind will blow at 140 to 155 kilometers per hour.
Scientists of Indian Meteorological Department Manorama Mohanty said that the cyclonic storm will not hit the whole Gujarat. It will touch Veraval, Porbandar and Dwarka. The effect will be seen on the coastal areas as there will be speed in the wind and there will be heavy rains. Pankaj Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Gujarat, said, “The government is continuing with the same intensity of the alertness of the cyclonic air storm. People have been sent to shelter homes. Their preparations will continue at the same level. ”
An official of the Meteorological Department said that despite the possibility of a change in the cyclone ‘Vayu’ and its collision with the Gujarat coast, the severity of the storm has become a threat to coastal areas of this state. The official said that the danger of strong winds, dust storms and rains remains the same. The central part of the storm has moved away from the coast of Gujarat, but its diameter is more than 900 km.
