Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has approved a new scheme for the development of knowledge-based economy in the state – Research in the strategic areas of science-for research, development and innovation in the development of Knowledge Base Ecosystem.
Chief Minister launched this in his tour of Israel as a means to boost the research-development innovation in the field of science technology. It has been confirmed by this approach that the decision taken to form a fund of Rs. 50 Crores.
For this purpose, he has decided to set up a Science Technology and Innovation STI Fund, as part of the Rs. 50 lakhs will be provided. Chief Minister has adopted this innovative approach to helping the Bio-Technology Policy and Research Assistance, I.T. Policy and Assistance and Assistance of Electronic Policy and Start-Up Policy, after considering the contribution of science, technology and innovation in the Knowledge Base ecosystem. The Department of Science and Technology, which has selected the areas for the purpose of high end technology and innovation, has been awarded for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Biotechnology, Polymers and Special Materials, Nanotechnology, Internet of Things (IOT) Solutions, Energy Storage Solutions, West Treatment and Management Solutions , Pollution abatement, Sustainable Habitat, Nutrition etc…

The maximum financial limitation of the project for research assistance is Rs. 5 lakhs and the period of the project has been kept for a maximum of 3 years.
Under this scheme, the funds will be raised to a certain amount. The project will be implemented by Gujarat Council on Science and Technology GujCoST. Gujarat has got the pride of starting this initiative in this research aid country. With the knowledge base ecosystem development combined with thousands of young students, teachers, researchers, the state will have the opportunity to develop their inner strengths, creativity, intelligence. Thus, due to this innovative approach, research activists of the state's academic and research institutions will get accelerated.
The State Science and Technology Department of the State Government has finalized this innovative scheme that the State Government will be sorted out through research by the main problems / questions experts of the selected areas and research assistance will be provided for its solution.
