Rajkot : Tiranga Yatra held in Rajkot made a patriotic appeal. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel participated in the two kilometer long Tricolor Yatra held at Rajkot and made a patriotic appeal to the townspeople to join the Yatra. On the occasion of completion of 75 years of independence, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Tiranga Yatra organized under the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign across the nation was flagged off by Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel today from Bahumali Bhawan Chowk in Rajkot at 9 am. He also paid floral tribute to the statue of Sardar Patel in Bahumali Bhavan. Addressing the huge gathering the CM said that as our country is entering the Amrutkal, the Triranga Yatra is a precious occasion of patriotism for all the countrymen. On this occasion, every citizen of the country and the state should join hands and participate in the progress of the country. Celebrating the national festival without any kind of discrimination is the historical heritage of India, the Chief Minister welcomed all the citizens who participated in the Tiranga Yatra. Home Minister Shri Harsh Sanghvi took oath with all involved in this Tiranga Yatra to be drug free. Chief Minister and dignitaries on the stage inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. The Chief Minister was welcomed with a replica of the national flag and medicinal plants. The dignitaries paid floral tribute to the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

District Collector Arun Mahesh Babu in his welcome speech explained the background of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” and welcomed the people for joining the yatra. Rajkot Mayor Pradip Dav greeted all the citizens who participated in the Triranga Yatra held on the occasion of Azadi Amrit Mohotsav at Rajkot. Dignitaries on the stage were welcomed by offering medicinal plants. This yatra concluded at the National School where Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial is attached. The 200 feet long national flag made by Rajkot Textiles Association was carried with full respect by the soldiers of NCC Cadets throughout the yatra. Patriotic cultural programs were presented at various points. Police and fire brigade bikes, police band, N.C.C. various groups including Brahmakumari and Gurukul Mandal joined.
