Sports Desk : Kickboxers from Vadodara made their mark in the First Khelo India Women’s Kickboxing League held at Rajiv Gandhi High Altitude Training Centre, Sports Authority of India, Shilaroo, Shimla. The first official Khelo India Women’s Kickboxing League proved to be an unprecedented event in the world of sports, which promoted gender equality and encouraged female athletes to excel in combat sports. Female kickboxers coming from across the country demonstrated their exceptional talent and perseverance in this historic event. Vadodara kickboxers Dinkal Gorkha and Ishita Gandhi made their mark in  this prestigious championship. Dinkal Gorkha emerged as an exceptional contestant, having secured first place in both the Point Fight and Light Contact categories in the -55kg Junior Girls Division. Her exceptional performance truly made the city proud. Another promising player from Vadodara, Ishita Gandhi, showed her skills in the -65 kg point fight senior women’s category to secure the first position. Additionally, she demonstrated her skills in the Light Contact- 65kg Senior Women’s category and secured second position. The extraordinary achievements of Ishita Gandhi caught the attention of Khelo India’s official social media platform. Her picture was featured prominently on the official Khelo India Instagram and Facebook pages, highlighting her remarkable talent and dedication towards the game of kickboxing. The President of Kickboxing Association Gujarat, Siddharth Bhaleghare, congratulated these talented kickboxers and wished them a bright future. The league will be continued across 36 cities in India. Such events raise the spirits and encourage active participation of women in sports.
