Ahmedabad : Congress MLA, Alpesh Thakor and DhavalSinh Zala resigned from the Gujarat Legislative Assembly after voting against the party candidates in the Rajya Sabha by-election on Friday. In Gujarat assembly, today MLAs cast their vote for the for the bypoll in the two Rajya Sabha seats in Gujarat.
Voting on Friday for two seats vacant in Rajya Sabha from Gujarat. Both of these seats have been vacant due to the selection of Amit Shah and Smriti Irani in the Lok Sabha. During the voting, Congress observer Ashwin Kotwal has said that Alpesh Thakor and Dhavalsinh Zala did cross voting.
The rebel MLA of Congress, Alpesh Thakor, said about the Rajya Sabha elections, “I voted with conscience and kept the national leadership in mind. The party which has lost its base and the party which has betrayed us.
“I had joined the Congress as I had a trust on Rahul Gandhi, but unfortunately congress did nothing for us,” said Thakor, MLA from Randhapur. We have been repeatedly insulted. That is why I resigned from the Member of Legislative Assembly.”
Now as Alpesh Thakor has resigned from assembly and he has voted for the candidates of BJP so, now his road towards ministry in Gujarat Government is very clear. Alpesh Thakor is going to wear the saffron shoes and just like other leaders, BJP is ready to welcome such rebalious leader of Congress. In near future, Alpesh Thakor will be seen as the minister of Gujarat government!
