Gandhinagar : British high commissioner paid courtesy visit to chief minister Bhupendra Patel. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s courtesy call was made by India-based British High Commissioner Alex Assis and Deputy High Commissioner Peter Cook in Gandhinagar. The British High Commissioner commended the Gujarati community for strengthening the bridge between Gujarat and the UK and also appreciated the achievements and contributions made by the Diaspora in the British-UK trade and commerce sector. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, in a conversation with the British High Commissioner, said that the Government of India has also worked out a detailed study on how Gujarat can contribute to the MoU that has been signed with the UK in the areas of security, defense, healthcare. Giving the 10 year road map of a leading state in the Gujarat solar energy sector to the British High Commissioner, Bhupendra Patel said that companies can participate in green technology solutions and climate financing to promote clean energy, green mobility, green manufacturing.

Bhupendra Patel also said that the UK has always been a place of choice for Gujarat students for higher studies. Not only that, Gujarat-UK universities, educational institutions, technology, tourism, management, artificial intelligence courses are also likely to interact with each other. The Chief Minister described to the High Commissioner the features of the “Statue of Unity”, the world’s tallest statue. In this context, he added that the Prime Minister’s leading vision of holistic development in the tribal area can be realized by looking at the development of the Statue of Unity premises. Bhupendra Patel requested the British High Commissioner to visit the premises of this giant statue of Unity and also to know how development can be achieved globally with self-reliance with the mantra of development. The Chief Minister extended an invitation to the UK High Level Delegation to join the forthcoming Vibrant Summit. British High Commissioner Alex Assis also extended a heartfelt invitation to the Chief Minister to visit the UK. The Chief Minister presented the British High Commissioner with a replica of Sardar Patel’s world’s tallest statue “Statue of Unity” and a booklet depicting the features of the entire Statue of Unity premises, depicting the beauty of tourism. During the visit, Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Kailasanathan, Additional Chief Secretary to the Industries Department Dr. Rajiv Kumar Gupta as well as Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Pankaj Joshi also joined.
