Gandhinagar : Courage and Bravery of BSF Personnel is an inspiration for the youth of the country. The Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvart visited the Frontier Headquarters of the Border Security Force at Gandhinagar and sent best wishes to the soldiers on the 57th day of the establishment of the Border Security Force. On the occasion, the Governor said that the courage, bravery and valor of the Border Security Force personnel is a source of inspiration for the young generation of the country. The Governor said that the borders of India are secure due to the courage and bravery of the Border Security Force personnel who are constantly serving for the protection of the country’s borders. He said that BSF personnel were always ready for the internal security, safety and peace of the country when the need arose. The Governor said that the need for Border Security Force was realized when the Pakistan Army attacked the Sardar Post in the Kutch Desert during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 and the Border Security Force was set up on 1st December,1965 . The Governor paid tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the protection of the country’s borders, remembering the unparalleled bravery shown by the Border Security Force personnel in the 1971 war against Pakistan. On this occasion, Gyanendrasinh Malik, Inspector General of Border Security Force, Gujarat, sent best wishes on the 57th foundation day of BSF and described the heroic story of Gujarat Frontier. Giving information about Seema Darshan project at Nada Bat in the border area of Gujarat, he said that this project will give a boost to border tourism.
The first three winners of Best Turn Out Competition as well as Best Barrack Competition were awarded trophies by the Governor on the occasion of 57th Foundation Day Ceremony of BSF held at Border Security Force, Gandhinagar Campus. The Governor visited various places including the library, Buddha Herbal Garden in the BSF headquarters complex and expressed his appreciation. Lady Governor Darshana Devi BSF Wives Welfare Association Chairperson Savita Malik and other senior officials were present on the occasion. At the end of the program, vote of thanks were given by the Deputy Director General Ippan P.V.A.
