INGREDIENTS
500 Grms Banarasi Aamla (Indian gooseberry)
500 Grms. Misri (Khadi saakar) or Jaggery
8-10 nos. Cardamom
a pinch of saffron (Kesar)
water as required

METHOD
Steam or pressure cook aamla. Grate them. Have misri/ jaggary in a pot, pour water as required. While stirring continuously on flame, prepare syrup (upto 2 strings). Add grated aamla and stir continuously. Keep on flame till aamla gets transparent. Switch off the flame and add cardamom powder and saffron. Mix and keep aside till it gets on room temperature. Store in a airtight glass jar.

Tastes better when made with Khadi saakar rather than Jaggary.
