Gandhinagar : Exams of 12th board will start from 1ts July, 2021 and that too it will be held offline. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has taken an important decision in the wider interest of Std-12 students in the state. As per this decision of the Chief Minister, this year’s annual examinations of Std. 12 Science and General Stream conducted by Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board will be held in a regular manner from next 1/7/2021. A high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has taken this important decision after detailed deliberations on holding board examinations for Std-12 in the special circumstances of the current corona transition in the state. Giving details in this regard, Minister of Education Bhupendrasinh Chudasama and Minister of State for Education Vibhavari Dave said that about 6,83,000 students will appear in exam. He said that the Chief Minister had instructed the Education Department in this meeting to conduct the Std-12 board examinations which are important for shaping the future careers of the students of the state in these special circumstances of corona transition with strict adherence to covid-19 protocol. The Minister of Education said that this examination will be conducted every year as per the established system of Science Stream Part-I with 50 marks Multiple Choice Type (MCQ) OMR method and Part-II Descriptive Written Form 50 marks examination will be held for 3 hours. Similarly, in Std-12 general stream, according to the established system of every year, an 3-hour examination of descriptive written form of 100 marks will be conducted. Chudasama added that the education department will ensure that students appearing for the exams maintain social distance, use masks compulsorily and also adhere to the transition control guideline of including sanitizers and thermal guns at the examination centers. The Education Minister also said that Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had made a persuasive suggestion at the meeting that the entire examination system should be set up with the concern that the transmission of corona would not spread among the students as well as their future would not be ruined.
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has also taken a student-friendly decision to increase the number of examination centers for the purpose of providing examination centers close to the school during this difficult time in Corona. For this purpose, the number of examination centers in the state will be increased this year. In which talukas sufficient number of students will be available and if there is no examination center in such taluka then examination center will be set up there. Arrangements will be made for a maximum of 20 students to sit in each examination room for both science stream and general stream examinations. Not only that, the examination centers have been provided with CCTV. Will be equipped with a camera. In this high level meeting, keeping in view the future of the students, it has been decided that the students who were absent due to the transition of corona in the examination or the students who are absent due to corona related or other unavoidable reasons during the exams will appear in the original examination i.e. starting from 1/7/2021, all subjects will be re-examined based on new timetable and new question papers. The Education Minister added that the examination for repeater students of Std. 10 will also be conducted in the same manner. The high-level meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Anil Mukim, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary K. Kailasanathan, Education Secretary Anju Sharma, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Ashwini Kumar, Education Secretary Vinod Rao, Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Chairman A. J. Shah were also present.
