Gandhinagar : Makkam Sarkar Adikham Vikas Gatha launched by chief minister Bhupendra Patel. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Team Gujarat’s development journey has completed more than ten months. The book “Makkam Sarkar Adikham Vikasgatha” which presents an overview of the work done during this period, by the Department under the strong leadership of Water Supply and Water Resources Minister Rushikesh Patel and the direct guidance of Minister Jitu Chaudhari, was released today by the Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Cabinet Minister of the State Government, Minister of State, Senior Secretaries including Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar were present in the book release program organized at Swarnim Complex. Prepared by the Water Supply Department, the book details the water revolution in Gujarat that saw more than 96 percent of households in the state’s rural areas connected to taps. Especially in a short period of 10 months, the water supply department has worked diligently and connected 7.70 lakh houses of 5218 villages with tap connection. As a result of the able leadership and coordination of Minister Rushikesh Patel and Minister of State Jitu Chaudhari in the ten months’ period of the Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, a total of Rs. 2198.92 crores of development projects and planned works were launched.It also includes important schemes like Astol Group water supply scheme, DDSA water supply scheme. Planned works worth Rs. 2189.86 crore works and Rs. 1084.74 crore works have been dedicated during this period. Complete details of which are provided in this book. Water supply department has approved tender worth Rs. 5284 crore in last ten months. 104 schemes worth Rs. 5891 crore have been given administrative approval. 1069 schemes have been sanctioned under the WASMO scheme with an estimated cost of Rs. 1064 crores.Details of ambitious schemes of tribal areas- Astol Group and DDSA (Dakshin Dahod Southern Area) Water Supply Schemes are also included in the book.

Launched by the Prime Minister, Astol Group Water Supply Scheme benefiting 4.5 lakh beneficiaries prepared at the cost of Rs. 586and DDSA (Dakshin Dahod Southern Area) scheme prepared at the cost of Rs 840 crores is providing potable water to 343 villages, 2 towns and 1389 societies of Dahod and Chhota udepur districts.
