Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel and various senior officials deliberated in a Core Committee Meeting regarding COVID-19 in Gujarat. During the meeting, Chief Secretary Anil Mukim said, “The state government has made timely arrangements in order to minimize the spread of COVID-19. As a part of the same, surveillance and tracking of 30 lakh citizens from COVID-19 affected areas in Gujarat will be completed in the coming 2 weeks.” In addition to this, the council of ministers of the state government will donate a month’s salary to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in order to ensure better provision of emergency treatment and related facilities for the people in such crisis. The state government has also appealed to various NGOs, financial organisations and other donors to donate in the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the same. Chief Secretary added, “The OPD wards in all government hospitals shall function as usual in order to ensure the provision of emergency health care services to the citizens. In addition to this, the Indian Medical Association has appealed the private practitioners to run OPD wards free of cost.” 110 samples from Gujarat were sent for examination today. 95 samples have been duly examined and 93 of them have been tested as ‘Negative’ and 2 cases have been tested as ‘Positive’. Both the patients hail from Rajkot. One patient has a history of foreign visit and one of them is a local. The remaining samples are awaiting results.
