Ahmedabad : Indore based couple experienced sensibility of chief minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani. Someone has rightly said that “Never….Never..Never..Give Up …” If there is a passion to do something good, to help someone, then no any task is impossible. The best example of this was recently seen in Ahmedabad Civil. Ahmedabad Civil Doctors have achieved a rare feat of saving the life of a child born to a poor working couple of Madhya Pradesh weighing just only 430 grams. In the history of Ahmedabad Civil that a child weighing 630 grams has been reported to have survived, but this is the first case where a child born with such a low weight has survived only with the hard work and effort of doctors. This case is indicative of the sensitive attitude of the Gujarat Government towards the poor patients under the leadership of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and the efforts and care of the doctors of Ahmedabad Civil, because of this that girl of poor parents from Indore has been treated at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital.

The year 2020 brought a disaster of corona to the whole world but this year brought a different problem for Jitendra Anja and Renu Anja, a couple living near the city of Indore in Madhya Pradesh and making a living by doing masonry. In the year 2020, people all over the world were forced to worry about their own lives, while this poor Anja family was pushed to worry about the lives of their unborn child. In the month of April, 2020, Renuben found out about her pregnancy. The couple was happily spending time understanding God’s blessings. After just two months of pregnancy, Renu was diagnosed with a serious liver problem. Renuben was more concerned about the small infant growing in her womb than her own. The couple met doctors in Indore and had given up almost all hope, only to find a ray of hope in the darkness and a relative advised them tovisit Ahmedabad Civil Hospital. The couple came to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital to try their luck. Renubahen’s health improved after only one week of treatment. With some relief in her health, Renuben decided to continue with her pregnancy. But one more problem was waiting for the couple. After six and a half months of pregnancy, Renuben’s health deteriorated once again. The couple again resorted to Civil Hospital Ahmedabad.

This time there was also the question of the life of the baby weighing 400 grams. Renuben’s unborn child was also suffering from health problems. There was a situation where doctors had to make a decision. “According to medical science experience, the chances of a baby being born so early are very low in health,” said Dr. Bela Shah, a doctor in the Civil Hospital gynecology department. They said that in Renuben’s case, if the pregnancy continued and no other decision was taken, the lives of both the mother and the baby would be in danger. There was no choice but to terminate the pregnancy. With heavy heart, the couple also agreed to end the pregnancy after realizing that such a low birth weight and such a premature baby could not survive. Finally, in October, Renuben gave birth to a baby whose weight was 436 gms. Assistant Professor of Gynecology Dr. Renu Akhani said that the girl was struggling against death from the very first breath. Everyone in the operation theater expected the baby to live no more than a few minutes. An atmosphere of sadness pervaded the operation theater.

She adds that according to medical science, when a child is so small, when he/she weighs so little, the problem arises step by step. The girl’s lungs and heart were also weak. The task of maintaining important parameters of physical health was also challenging. However, this little girl needed very little oxygen support. This motivated the resident doctors of gynecology department to make more efforts to revive this baby. According to medical science, the organs of such a small child are less likely to be underdeveloped. So this girl was thoroughly tested. Despite digesting all the possibilities, the family members decided to stay by the side of this girl in the fight against death. The relatives strictly followed the advice of the doctors regarding the issue of giving kangaroo mother care and oil massage to the baby. The constant loving care and nursing at the NICU gradually went to a positive side and the girl’s condition began to improve. Gradually the need for oxygen and antibiotics was removed. The baby also started taking food from the feeding tube and gradually began to gain weight. After receiving the treatment, the weight of the girl has also increased to 930 grams. Now this girl is ready to live a healthy life. The cost of the treatment received by the girl at the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital would have been Rs. 10 to 12 lakhs, which may not have been affordable to this poor couple. But due to the sensitive attitude of the Gujarat government under the leadership of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani towards the poor patients, the girl of this family from Indore has been treated free of cost at the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital and the girl is still in good health. When the couple got to know about this, the couple became emotional and they expressed their gratitude towards the sensitive approach of the Gujarat Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and the doctors of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital. The girl has been named ‘Dakshita’ by her parents.
