Gandhinagar : Reliable and fast information exchange is necessary in today’s world. Efforts are needed to make the government’s work more effective by keeping pace with the times when the information department is doing an important job of communicating to the public. By spreading the idea of ​​new dimensions of ideological brainstorming and communication over time, the dissemination of propaganda can be made more result oriented. As part of this series, a one-day workshop on Writing Skills was organized by Gujarat Press Academy for the employees of Information Department. In this workshop DP Desai, Director of Information, Arvind Patel, Additional Director of Information and Pulak Trivedi, Secretary of Press Academy gave important guidance to the workers of the Information department employees. Extensive discussions were held in the seminar on the important role of the state government in providing information to the citizens about the various welfare schemes of the state, providing information to the beneficiaries to avail the benefits of the scheme and getting the feedback from the beneficiaries. Desai told the officials and employees of the Information Department that it was very important for the media to reach out to the citizens, to maintain the interest of the citizens and to deliver reliable information to them in a timely manner. The role of information officers has become more important in today’s fast-paced social media.

“Change is needed over a period of time,” Desai said. In today’s competitive age, every information officer has to make conscious efforts to make the news of the Information Department meaningful and informative. He said that all the workers should keep on adding value to the news-information keeping pace with the technology and time. Additional Director of Information Arvind Patel, while explaining the mantra of success in the field of writing to the participants, said that continuous public relations, brainstorming and collection of information will give more impetus to the work. He also instructed the participants to create success story and photo bank of various government departments. Gujarat Press Academy Secretary Pulak Trivedi elaborated on the importance of print media with useful examples even among fast growing media like audio visual media and social media. He provided important guidance on how to prepare news, articles and success stories for the print media. Apart from this, Trivedi imparted insights to the employees of the Information Department on the preparation of various subject related thought banks and its usefulness.
