Dhordo (Kutch) : Vikasotsav was launched from the land of Kutch by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Inaugurating the Border Development Festival program from Kutch, the first border area of Gujarat in the country, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that along with the soldiers working for the security of the country, the people of the border villages and people’s representatives are also border guards. He said that the Border Development Festival – Vikasotsav has been launched from the land of Kutch with the objective of inculcating social responsibility related to border security among the people in the rural areas of the country as well as preventing migration across the borders, developing border villages and making patriotism alive among the people. Marginal Development Festival is an ongoing series and in the coming days this Development Festival will also be held in various border areas of the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and I will personally visit all the borders associated with the land of the country and monitor this development festival – Vikasotsav program. Stating that the borders cannot be truly protected unless the people of the rural areas living near the border become aware of the issue of border security, Home Minister said that the borders of the country and the state are equal to the mother’s territory. It is the duty of every citizen to protect it. Then there is the internal security of the country or the international security. The country cannot move forward unless the internal security of the country is strong and that is why the Prime Minister has acted in a way that no one can enter in country and with determination to unify the borders of the country.
He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced India’s strength to the world by responding to terrorist attacks in Kashmir Pulwama through surgical strikes and air strikes. Home Minister Amita Shah said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi took bold decisions at a time when the whole world was grappling with the pangs of global pandemic.. And at the same time we have been able to save the economy from collapsing. While we are all in a festive mood, he wished the countrymen a happy Diwali and said that we will also celebrate the upcoming festivals but with full caution and vigilance as Corona is not gone yet.
Expressing the commitment of the government for the development of border villages, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that the state-central government is committed to make the rural areas on the borders more convenient. The Chief Minister, who participated in the Sarpanch Sammelan held under the Border Area Development Festival – Vikasotsav in the White Desert of Kutch along with the Union Home Minister, gave an overview of the planned works of the state government for the development of border villages of Banaskantha and Patan districts along with Kutch. Stressing on enriching the border through job creation, he said that with the creation of employment in Kutch district, the world’s largest renewable energy park is going to be launched on the border area of Kutch. Work has also been undertaken on a saltwater desalination plant. Along with the development of Kutch district, Rs. 50 crore has been allocated for the development of Mata na Madh to embody the concept of development of tourist places here. Along with this, the government is also thinking for the development of Narayan Sarovar, said the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister said that in order to inculcate the spirit of patriotism in the villagers near the border of Gujarat, a major project of Seema Darshan has been undertaken at Nadabet.
The Chief Minister also expressed the name of making the borders of Gujarat more convenient as well as making the borders more secure with the overall development of the border villages to create awareness among the people. Union Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development Narendrasinh Tomar termed the development works in the border states as a historic occasion and said that the land of Gujarat is so sacred that Gujarat has set new expectations for the country through its excellent performance in all fields. He added that when the earthquake hit Kutch, the world felt that Kutch would not rise again, but as a result of the resourcefulness and foresight of the then Chief Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kutch is now on the world map. Various officers of Gujarat Police Department were honored by Union Home Minister in this program.
