Gandhinagar : Vijay Rupani held video conference with district collectors to know the situation after Tauktae cyclone. Gujarat Chief Minster Vijay Rupani held video conference to review of the assistance provided to Cyclone Tauktae affected districts and other restoration work being done by the district administration in three districts of Saurashtra- Gir-Somnath, Bhavnagar and Amreli- through video conference with the collectors of these districts from Gandhinagar. The Chief Minister received in-depth details from the collectors about ongoing work of prompt payment of Cash doles as well as housing assistance to Cyclone Tauktae affected families and individuals in these districts. In these three districts, total 4,82,192 people have been paid Cash doles worth Rs. 25.61 crore. According to the rules and regulations of the state government, in these Cash doles, Daily allowance of Rs. 100 to adults and Rs. 60 to minors is paid for seven days. Furthermore, the district administrators have completed 100 per cent work of the Cash doles payment by paying Rs. 5.8 crore to 1,01,284 individuals in Gir-Somnath, Rs. 4.57 crore to 76,289 people of Bhavnagar district, Rs. 15.24 crore to 3,04,619 people of Amreli district. The Chief Minister also urged the District Collectors to carry out this operation without succumbing to any pressure and with vigilance and verification so that the right people who are in need receive the assistance. He also instructed the concerned district administrators to ensure that the amount of housing assistance is credited directly to the bank accounts of the affected people through DBT.
In these three affected districts, as per the norms of the state government, housing assistance of Rs. 7000 per family has been paid, in which the assistance of Rs. 22.5 crore to 32,138 families in Gir-Somnath, Rs. 4.32 crore to 16,538 families in Amreli district, Rs. 2.49 crore to 11,697 families in Bhavnagar, and housing assistance of Rs. 29.31 crore to 60,373 families have been provided. The payment of this housing assistance is made by DBT. Not only that, the work is 100 percent complete. The Chief Minister also reviewed the details of the assistance paid in cases of complete destruction of houses, partial damage, collapse of walls or roofs, destruction of huts or damage to cattle sheds in these three districts due to strong winds of Cyclone Tauktae. As per the decision of the Chief Minister to provide the assistance of Rs. 95,100 in case of complete destruction of houses, total 1834 houses in these three districts have been destroyed completely due to Cyclone Tauktae and 100 percent assistance has been provided to them. The Chief Minister has urged to provide the assistance of Rs. 25,000 in cases of the houses partially damaged by more than 15 percent due to the cyclone. Also, the district administrations have provided the assistance of Rs. 95.60 crore to 350 houses in Gir-Somnath district, Rs. 12 crore to 7950 houses in Bhavnagar, Rs. 34.39 crore to 16,914 houses in Amreli. Not only that, the assistance of Rs. 5000 has been given in cases of damage in cattle sheds in these districts. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, in addition to reviewing the payment of this assistance, obtained detailed information from the concerned collectors about the restoration of power supply and restoration of roads and water supply in these districts. On given the details that the power supply has been restored in almost 90 percent villages and towns of Gir-Somnath district, he gave clear instructions that the district collectors should coordinate with the power companies to restore the power supply in remaining 10 per cent areas as well as soon as possible.
