Ahmedabad : CII Gujarat has expressed strong confidence in the state’s industrial growth ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027. Speaking at a CII Media Roundtable in Ahmedabad, Vir S Advani, Chairman, CII Western Region and Chairman & Managing Director, Blue Star Ltd, highlighted Gujarat’s industrial strengths. He said Gujarat has a strong base for the next phase of India’s industrial expansion. Advani identified competitiveness, ease of doing business, technology and future skills as key growth drivers. He also stressed the need for resilient supply chains and advanced manufacturing.
Focus on Ease of Doing Business
Advani called for further regulatory simplification across the state. He highlighted single-window clearances and faster environmental approvals as important priorities. He also pointed to the need to address inverted duty structures. According to Advani, these measures can strengthen Gujarat’s investment environment and industrial competitiveness.
New Opportunities Across Emerging Sectors
Gujarat continues to see opportunities across several high-growth sectors. These include semiconductors, defense and aerospace, green hydrogen and renewable energy. Advanced manufacturing also remains a major opportunity for the state. Advani said Gujarat needs skilled talent, competitive MSMEs and stronger technology capabilities to attract investments. He also highlighted AI, robotics, smart factories and digital supply chains. Sustainable manufacturing will also play a growing role in industrial competitiveness, he said.
Skills and MSMEs Remain Key Priorities
CII is working through skill centers in Sanand, Rajkot and Vadodara. The centres aim to align training programmes with industry requirements. CII is also supporting MSMEs through several initiatives. These include export-readiness programmes, buyer-seller meets and Industry 4.0 adoption. Quality improvement initiatives will also help MSMEs strengthen their position in domestic and global value chains. Advani said Gujarat’s next growth phase will connect large industries, MSMEs, start-ups and global companies.
