Gir-Somnath : New circuit house inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Somnath. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today virtually inaugurated new circuit house(guest house) build at a cost of Mr. 30.55 crore by Government of Gujarat in Somnath. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Navsari MP C. R. Patil joined the inauguration virtually. Minister for Road Building and Tourism, Yatradham Development Purnesh Modi, Minister of State Arvind Raiani participated from new circuit house in Somnath following COVID protocols. PM Modi addressing the gathering said that, “The cultural places including Somnath represent our national unity and the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. He further said that faith and cultural places like Somnath are its main centers for what we want to learn from the past through Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Under Swadesh Darshan Yojana, 15 themed tourism circuits are being developed in the nation.” PM said that the number of tourist destinations in other countries of the world, we have such destinations in every single state of our country.Referring to the ancient sites in each state, the Prime Minister said that developers have a vital role to play in bringing prosperity to the country and providing opportunities to the youth of the country. The Prime Minister remarked that in the last 7 years, the country has worked relentlessly to realize the potential of tourism. Today, the development of tourist centres is not just a part of the government schemes, but a campaign of public participation. The country’s heritage sites and development of our cultural heritage are great examples of this. Focusing on his affiliation with Somnath temple Prime Minister Modi said that, Somnath Trust has been working tirelessly for the convenience of the pilgrims in Somnath. One development after another is taking place in Somnath in the last few years.

Highlighting the various developmental works for which the foundation stones were laid or were inaugurated including the walkway, exhibition gallery, MaaParvati Temple Mr. Modi said that, With this facility being made available in Somnath area,Somnath will be the centre of the circuit from Diu, Gir to Bet Dwarka. Pilgrims staying in the circuit house built by the Gujarat government in Somnath will be able to enjoy the waves of the sea and will be able to pray (bow head)at peak of the Somanth temple from the circuit. The Prime Minister further added that the destruction of the Somnath Temple and the subsequent renovation by Sardar Saheb in the situation is a big message. He also outlined a new vision for tourism development linked to Vocal for Local. The Prime Minister also mentioned the development works done in Gujarat including Dwarka, Bet Dwarka, SomnathAmbajiPavagadh, Saputara, Statue of Unity, Girnar.75 lakh pilgrims have visited Statue of Unity so far.

Virtually addressing Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, new facilities are being made available in the country with the restoration of cultural heritage.Prime Minister is the Chairman of the Somnath Temple Trust and under his guidance many works have been completed for the convenience of the pilgrims in Somnath. Green energy, clean energy and comprehensive measures for protection of environment, natural farming are also getting new directions. Patel said that GoG has made several efforts for the development of tourism places in Gujarat. He also mentioned the achievements of the Prasad Yojana of the Central Government under the leadership of the Prime Minister and the work done under this scheme in the state and said that the state government is committed for the development of tourism and pilgrimage places.
