Gandhinagar : When Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, the state government changed its policy as per the present requirement to promote higher education and provide quality education to the students of Gujarat at the local level. At one time there were only nine universities in Gujarat while today there are a total of 8 best universities functioning, it was stated by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on the occasion of Silver Jubilee of Nirma Institute of Technology from Gandhinagar through video conference. The Silver Jubilee was celebrated at Nirma University, Ahmedabad today on the occasion of the 7th anniversary of the establishment of “Nirma Institute of Technology” by video conference from Gandhinagar in the presence of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. Founder-President of Nirma University and Padma Shri Karashanbhai Patel were present.

“Silver Jubilee Souvenir” was released from Gandhinagar by the Chief Minister on the occasion of 3 years of the organization. Congratulating all present on the occasion of 9th founding day of Nirma Institute of Technology today, October 6, the Chief Minister said that earlier students of Gujarat had to go out for higher studies. At that time, self-financed universities and colleges were not promoted in Gujarat. But keeping in view the current situation, the state government has changed that policy and now colleges and universities in Gujarat are allowed as self-financed in faculties like medical, engineering, management. As a result, Nirma Institute of Technology was started 3 years ago today. As a result of the education oriented policy, the number of medical seats in Gujarat has been increased from 1100 to 8,500 today. PadmaShri Karashanbhai Patel, President of and Nirma University, while congratulating all on the occasion of Silver Jubilee, said that Nirma University has always emphasized on quality education, research and innovation. After starting vocational and technical courses in the year 19, in the year 2006, Nirma University was recognized as a self-financed university in Gujarat.
